NOTICE OF FILING PRECLEARANCE SUBMISSION (AVISO DE PRESENTACION DE PREAUTORIZACION SUMISION) Notice is hereby given that North Austin Municipal Utility District No. 1 (the “District”) has filed a submission with the United States Department of Justice (the “DOJ”) requesting preclearance of a change affecting voting as required under Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, as amended (the “Preclearance Submission”). The changes requested are (i) moving the date of the District’s director elections from the uniform election date in May of even-numbered years to the uniform election date in November of even-numbered years, and adjusting the terms of office of the District’s directors to conform to the new election date, as authorized by Senate Bill 100, Acts of the 82nd Texas Legislature, Regular Session, 2011. All residents and taxpayers of District and all other interested persons are invited to provide comments on the Preclearance Submission to the Attorney General.
