Notice is hereby given that North Austin Municipal Utility District No. 1 (the “District”) will hold an election on November 6, 2018, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., at the polling place for each election precinct established by Travis County and Williamson County, Texas, for the purpose of electing a director to serve in Place 2 and a director to serve in Place 4, each of whom will serve a four-year term. The District has approved a construction contract with Joe Bland Construction to expand the drainage culvert along Tamayo Drive over Rattan Creek. The project is intended to reduce the extent of the floodplain near the bridge structure. The project will take approximately 3 weeks beginning at the end of March or in early April. Residents should abide by all traffic and construction safety signage posted and please take note of construction signage provided at the bridge. Traffic will be reduced to one lane for portions of the project during the day between 7AM and 5PM and then opened up each night after 5PM to two lanes until 7AM.

The North Austin MUD #1 Board of Directors are pleased to announce completion of several District projects in 2017 and 2018 intended to improve provision of water utilities and increase the type and number of amenities to its residents. Recently, the District completed the Humphrey Drive Restroom Project and Tamayo and Dallas Booster Station projects in November of 2017. The District's Rate Order states that bills for sewer service shall be computed (1) on the basis of the average amount of water used by the customer during the winter season based upon the average of the monthly readings of the customer's water meter for the preceding December, January and February billing periods or (2) on the basis of the customer's current monthly water bill, whichever is less. There have been an increase in the number of coyote sightings and reports of missing pets in the Northwest Austin area. There are some common sense precautions people can take to manage coyotes. UPDATE: Wildlife Services out of Texas A&M are aware of the problem and are taking actions to trap/eradicate as many of the problem animals as they can. The hunters are set up on the Robinson Ranch and are baiting the area now.

Williamson County crews will be working along the streets of the North Austin MUD #1 that are within Williamson County (not Travis County).The purpose for the trimming is to facilitate access to the neighborhood by the Jollyville VFD and also for Williamson County street maintenance equipment.
December 18, 2014 – A home in North Austin MUD #1 was discovered to have high Mercury levels due to an accidental spill in the garage. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Williamson County Hazardous Materials Response were contacted in order to verify the spill and vapor levels in the home on Amasia Cove. A cleanup crew has been contacted, and they will slowly go through the house to mitigate the high levels of mercury. At this time, there are no mercury vapors outside the house, so it is not a threat to people outside of the home. The vapors are not a threat to water or wastewater. (Click above to read more.)

Yes, it's time once again for the annual pet clinic in Rattan Creek Park! The clinic will be happening on Wednesday, August 13th in the evening, beginning around 5:00 pm and ending around 7:00pm.
Chief Kiracofe, of the Jollyville Fire Dept , is requesting all residents to trim their trees that front Travis and Williamson County streets (all streets in the district) to a height no lower than 14 feet . This is to insure that the new Jollyville fire truck is able to maneuver through North Austin M.U.D #1's streets in an emergency . Williamson County will be following up within the next months and will trim the trees near Williamson County streets If residents fail to do so . If the residents are particular about how the trees will be trimmed, they may want to do the work themselves. If the County does the work there will not be the opportunity for residents to have direct input as to how they want their trees trimmed.
